DOD-STD-1788 Trays
DOD-STD-1788A: DOD-STD-1788 series trays were developed to define the tray-requirements for the form factor, design and environmental tolerance of Avionic equipment installed in military aircraft. Modeled after ARINC 600, DOD-STD-1788 trays are intended by design to reduce acquisition costs when identical avionics functions, packaged in different configurations designed for specific type aircraft, are greatly reduced or eliminated entirely. The standard limits a given tray’s ATR size to ¼ - 1½ ATR.
- LRU sizes 2 thru 12 available in standard length 52 inches (318 mm).
- Size 2 = 1/4 ATR; Size 3 = 3/8 ATR; Size 4 = 1/2 ATR; Size 6 = 3/4 ATR; Size 8 = 1 ATR; Size 12 = 1 1/2 ATR
- Load ratings per LRU Size:
- Size 2 = 14.3 lbs (6.5Kg); Size 3 = 22.0 lbs (10.0Kg); Size 4 = 29.7 lbs (13.5Kg); Size 5 = 37.4 lbs (17.0 Kg); Size 6 = 45.1 lbs (20.5Kg); Size 7 = 52.8 lbs (24.0Kg); Size 8-12 = 60.5 lbs (27.5Kg)
- Alternate short and long sizes also available.
- Sizes LRU 2, 3, 4 and 5 can be positioned on side to maintain low profile.
- Cooling air sealed at top and bottom with closed cell foam.
- Hose adaptors can be supplied to customer's configuration.
- Hold downs available to MS 14108 or MIL-F-85731.
- Alternate rear pins available to retain equipment when rear connector not used.
